MPL Singapore Season 6 sets new viewership record for the regional series
The $73.8K prize pool MPL Singapore Season 6 concluded on October 22, with Team Flash claiming the first-ever title for the organization. The tournament performed way better than its previous iteration and ended as the most successful event in the league since becoming a standalone split in 2021.
The competition saw Team Flash avenge the loss in the final of Spring split to RSG Singapore, edging past them 4:3 to take home $26.1K and slots at the M5 World Championship & ONE Esports MPL Invitational 2023. The latter pocketed $15.1K but will miss out on a fourth appearance at the mega event after finishing in the 13th-16th bracket in 2022.
Essential numbers and most popular matches from the MPL Singapore Season 6
The MPL Singapore Season 6 registered 67K Peak Viewers during the summit clash, 173.6% more than the next-best entry, showing how invested fans were in the game. It helped that they had already met in the Upper Bracket Final, where RSG Singapore eased past Team Flash 3:1, sending the latter to the Lower Bracket Final.
Viewers were invested in the tournament winners' three-year story arc, culminating in a win this year. Having finished rock bottom in the fourth season, Team Flash roared back to finish as runner-up in the next edition before completing its redemption by clinching the sixth edition. This also helped the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competition record 487K Hours Watched and 4K Average Viewers over 105 hours of airtime.

Both finalists had three entries each in the list of five most popular games from the event, with the only other team to have multiple appearances being HomeBois SG. This was also reflected in the fact that they were the two most popular sides at the event by average concurrent viewers, with a little more than 100 people separating them.
Like the fifth season, fans did not get the much-anticipated Grand Final battle between eternal rivals RSG Slate SG and Bleed Esports, with the latter going out in the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals after losing 2:0 to Vanguard Esports. However, unlike the MPL Singapore Season 5, it did not affect the viewership, thanks largely to the return of TikTok to the broadcasting platforms list.
The video-sharing app continued its rapid growth in the South Asian market by ending as the second most preferred destination for fans to catch the action live. Having taken up a massive 18.45% of the overall watch time, it even managed to eat into YouTube's share, with the red platform losing over 14% of its watch hours from the previous edition.

Most watched and popular MPL Singapore tournaments of all time
The MPL Singapore Season 6 was record-breaking for the Mobile Legends Professional League in the Southeast Asian island country. It became the first such league in the series to top 400K HW, 50K PV, and 4K AV, showing just how much things had changed for the better in 2023. What surely helped was the fact that it acted as a direct qualifier for the world championship, and with only one slot up for grabs from this region, there was extra jeopardy that drew fans into the action.
Additionally, with qualification for MLBB's exciting MPLI 2023 at stake, there was more interest among audiences to tune in and see what was happening. This also meant there was a huge gap in the number of channels live-streaming the matches in 2023, with the 45 active handles seen far outnumbering anything seen at any previous iteration.
The focus for these MLBB sides will now shift to the MPLI, which sees the 16 best sides from the various regions battle it out for a purse of $100K from November 15 to 19. It will also serve as a warm-up for the season-ending finale that is the worlds, which begins on November 23 and runs till December 17 at the GBK Basketball Hall in Jakarta, Indonesia.
