Riot Games unveils new VALORANT agent Veto

Oct 05, 2025 1 min read

The organizers of VALORANT Champions 2025 had a few surprises in store — even for fans of the shooter who don’t usually follow esports. Right before the grand final, Riot Games revealed Veto, a brand-new agent set to go live on October 7.

It’s tough to gauge Veto’s abilities and role in a team based solely on the trailer, but fans are already worried he might be overpowered. Players quickly noticed his near-invincibility in gunfights thanks to teleportation, while also praising his sleek design. Many believe Veto will start off as a true “imba” — a slang term for an unbalanced or overpowered character — but expect future patches to tone him down.

The VALORANT Champions 2025 grand final is underway in Paris at the Accor Arena, where Fnatic and NRG Esports are battling for the championship title. Fans can track live results and viewership stats for the showdown on Esports Charts’ event page.
