The VALORANT Champions 2022 group stage has come to an end, and its peak concurrent audience has remained virtually unchanged since 2021. In our new article, we will tell you about teams that made it to the playoffs, how many viewers followed the tournament, and the impact that community casters had on its viewership statistics.

Tournament Group Stage Results

Eight teams made it out of VALORANT Champions 2022 group stage. Paper Rex, ZETA DIVISION, KRÜ Esports, and 100 Thieves won $25K each for 9th-12th place, while EDward Gaming, BOOM Esports, XERXIA, and FURIA Esports won $15K each for 13th-16th place.  Leviatán, OpTic Gaming, XSET, and DRX were the strongest teams in their groups with two wins in a row each. Team Liquid, LOUD, FunPlus Phoenix, and Fnatic advanced to the tournament playoffs from second place.

We should note that Liquid is the only team among those who advanced to VALORANT Champions 2022 playoffs that qualified for the event from the Last Chance tournament. Also, there is not a single representative from Japan or the Asia-Pacific region left in the championship.

The PV number of VALORANT Champions 2022 is up 1.9%, the AV number is up 14.8%, and the HW number is up 4.9% from last year's tournament. This result was reached despite the fact that the Sentinels, a team that was incredibly popular at the end of the VALORANT Champions 2021 group stage, did not play in the championship. The matches with Sentinels participating accumulated over 7.2 million HW, 20% more than Paper Rex, the most watched team of the current championship.

At the same time, the PV number reached on the broadcasts of independent streamers in 2022 increased by more than 9%, and the AV number — by 21%.

The audience statistics of the VALORANT Champions 2022 group stage increased compared to last year's results, but insignificantly. The current performance of the event cannot be called extremely good against the backdrop of a significant increase in the popularity of esports and Valorant on Twitch over the past year.
